About Summit

Summit is designed as a gathering place for higher education professionals working in Banner, Oracle, Slate, and other tentpole systems that drive institutional operations. We have two goals for every Summit attendee, and we think they are equally important: that you learn something new and that you meet somebody new.

Summit has a long history in Tennessee. For years, it was hosted over Fall Break at Middle Tennessee State University. It didn’t return immediately after the pandemic, but a group of past attendees felt strongly about the need to continue the collaboration that Summit provided. In 2025, we hosted TnBUG (the Tennessee Banner Users’ Group) as our first attempt at “Summit 2.0”. In 2026, we realized we wanted to expand the collaboration beyond just colleagues who primarily use Banner, and the Summit name is back!

Summit is planned collaboratively and led by the committee members listed below, but is officially administered by Chattanooga State Community College.
